The Grade II* listed church of Holy Trinity has suffered from severe damp problems at both low and high level.
The PCC launched its “Stamp out our Damp” campaign and successfully secured a grant from the English Heritage and Heritage Lottery Fund joint grant scheme for churches.
These grants paid towards new below-ground drainage, reroofing of part of the north aisle, improvements to downpipes and removal of thickVictorian plasters and replacement by new breathable lime plaster and limewash.
The conservation works were carried out by David Sleight Conservation, with consolidation of a damp-affected wall monument in the aisle by Alex Carrington.
