We carry out quinquennial inspections of church buildings (5 yearly condition surveys) to then help plan and prioritise necessary repairs. We then will often support parishes in seeking grant aid to fund such urgent works as might be found necessary.
The adaptation of church buildings to facilitate new community uses is also an area that we have expertise in. This requires skills to ensure that the special character of our church buildings is not
unduly compromised whilst recognising that the current appearance of many of our historic churches is the result of a phases of change to accommodate new priorities.
Both Peter and Richard are DAC members (Leicester and Derby), and Peter is also a member of the Roman Catholic Historic Churches Committee for the Diocese of Nottingham, and so have a good knowledge of Faculty procedures in different denominations.
