Peter qualified as an architect in 1973 and was in general practice doing commercial and housing work in Bristol and Peterborough until 1978 before concentrating on historic buildings, joining the Grantham rm of Bond & Read, specialists in historic buildings, becoming a partner in 1980. Bond & Read was wound up in 2003 to allow the partners to work more effectively as single practitioners.
Peter has served as architect to about 400 historic buildings, from small village churches up to large town churches in the Dioceses of Lincoln, Peterborough, Ely, Southwell, Leicester and Derby, large country houses including Belvoir Castle and Grimsthorpe Castle and schools including Oakham and Uppingham.
